Fremont Lakes State Recreation Area

The Fremont Lakes State Recreation area just west of Fremont draws nearly a million visitors a year. The 700-acre site has 20 sandpit lakes that provide fishing, swimming, power boating, skiing and jet skiing. There are 200 camping sites. A handicapped fishing pier on Lake No. 2 and a shower building in the north camp area are recent additions, most roads are now hard-surfaced.


Electric hook-ups, showers, modern toilets, trailer dump station, shelter house, boat launch sites, fireplaces and playground equipment. Paddleboats, canoes, flat bottom boats, bicycles, etc. can be rented on the grounds. Food is also available. A Nebraska State Park entry permit is required. Camping fees vary with the season.
