The one-story, frame vernacular-style house is the birthplace of Harold Lloyd, a nationally known silent film star and producer. Lloyd was born in the house in 1893 and lived there until his family moved in 1897.
Lloyd is best known for his silent film, "Safety Last." He made almost 200 films between 1915 and 1919, most of which were comedies associated with thrills and daredevil acrobatics.
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the house is being renovated for a museum.
