Beaver City, Nebraska

The Civil War(1861-1865) Statue and Marker honor those unknown dead that fought for their beliefs and for the freedoms that this nation is based upon.

The statue is located in the Gazebo Park in the center of the business district in the city square, and is a wonderful place to visit. The park consists of many different types of trees, many of them dedicated to the memory of loved ones. The Gazebo Park has picnic tables, a water supply in the northeast quandrant, and the Gazebo frequent site of events such as concerts, weddings and community church services held during special occasion weekends during the year. Furnas County Courthouse

When Furnas County organized in late 1873, Beaver City was one of the voting places designated by Governor Robert Furnas, for whom the county was named. Competing with Arapahoe for location of the county seat, Beaver City was chosen for the honor by the people. This is where it has remained.

Westside Park, Golf, and RV Campground

The Westside Park is the area to head for when one wishes to enjoy a cool and refreshing swim in the newly-rebuilt pool. There is the regulation size pool and a nice shaded wading pool for the smaller children.
