The Westside Park is the area to head for when one wishes to enjoy a cool and refreshing swim in the newly-rebuilt pool. There is the regulation size pool and a nice shaded wading pool for the smaller children.
A picnic shelter is located by the swimming pool, as well as a playground with an assortment of slides, rides and other amusement items (including an actual army tank) for the young people to enjoy.
Several of the trees in the Westside Park have been planted during Arbor Day ceremonies. Arbor Day was started by Nebraska resident, J. Sterling Morton, and the first Arbor Day was proclaimed during the term of Governor Robert Furnas, for which our Furnas County is named.
There is an old log house, located next to the park, that originally was built southwest of Beaver City.
There is a baseball field located south of the Westside Park. The field is dedicated to the memory of Howard Mortensen, one of Beaver City's business people and most active civic leaders.
Golf - A nine hole sand green golf course is located by the baseball field and becomes one of the favorites of everybody as it is a nice course for relaxed play.
Camping - Camping facilities for the traveler are available at Westside Park in Beaver City. The municipal facility is open year round and offers electrical and water hookups, toilets, grills, drinking water, and swimming at the city pool during the summer.
