Brick Streets - Downtown Business District - Park

category : Historic Downtowns
Brick Streets - Downtown Business District - Park Beaver City was founded in 1872. The central downtown business district situated around a square block of city park began developing at the end of the 1800s. The first city streets were only dirt roads. Then in 1927 the idea was advanced to pave the business district with bricks. The business association on the west side of the Square approved the paving but the south side association did not think that the proposal was good. However the west side association began the project on their own. The resulting paved streets and alleys were so impressive that the south side association changed its decision and joined the project. Soon the entire Square area was paved.
