The Cherry County Historical Society Museum offers the visitor a view into the town's colorful past from Boot Hill and prairie desperadoes to its present status as a thriving community of homes, businesses, and churches.

Exhibits include Native American artifacts,homesteaders' lives, cattle ranching, Ft. Niobrara, and the life in the early part of the century. Here you see pump organs, toys, quilts, china and glassware, saddlery and tack, vintage clothing, military uniforms and memorabilia, and may photographs. A restored 1882 log cabin is situated nearby.

The Cherry County Historical Society maintains an extensive genealogical library with newspaper files and microfilm records dating from 1884. Family researchers from all parts of the country may obtain records of their Cherry County ancestors through the genealogical search process conducted by historical Society members, or visit in person to peruse our resources.

Group tours are welcomed with advance notice, and school tours are encouraged during the fall and winter months.
