Sunapee Historic Society Museum
category : Museums
The Sunapee Historical Society is dedicated to the preservation of the history of the town of Sunapee, New Hampshire, located on the shores of beautiful Lake Sunapee. From colonial farm community to glorious summer resort mecca in the heyday of the grand hotels with their steamboat service to industrial powerhouse, our town has a rich history that we are proud to present to the public at our museum.
The Sunapee Historical Society Museum is located in the old Flanders-Osborne stable at 74 Main Street in the heart of Sunapee Harbor. It houses rotating exhibits of items from Sunapee's past: the grand hotels, the steamboats, industrial and agricultural equipment, and much more.
At 7pm on most Thursday evenings in the summer, we offer a "cracker barrel' talk--a discussion of some aspect of Sunapee history. Check the Upcoming Events page for dates and topics.
