Stratford Ecological Center is a 236 acre organic farm consisting of fields, forest, swamps, pond, creek, education center, sugar shack, gardens, greenhouses and farm animals. 95 acres is dedicated as a State Nature Preserve. Stratford is one of the largest green spaces left in southern Delaware County.
Stratford is a privately owned non-profit organization dedicated to educating children and adults toward understanding the relationships between living things and their environment. Stratford hosts three annual events: Maple Sugar Festival; Summer Solstice Celebration and Harvest Festival.
Other programs include Wildflower Walks, Butterfly Monitoring, Family Farm Chores, Vernal Pool Study, Canning Classes, Non-Toxic Cleaners and Organic Gardening. Monthly groups include Green Parents, Herbal Study, Simplicity Circle and Fiber Circle. Honey, meat, eggs, and pick your own produce are available on site. Guided tours by reservation for groups of 10+, at $2/person/hour.
