Tar Hollow State Park is located in Ross & Hocking counties, an hour drive south of Columbus.
Tar Hollow State Park & State Forest & Ross Lake Wildlife Area mingle to offer 18,000 acres of some of the most rugged land in Ohio. Hike 24 miles of trails, or take a backpacking adventure on the 21-mile backpack trail through the park & state forest. Primitive back-country camping is permitted in designated areas.
The park offers a challenging 2.5 mile mountain bike trail. Horseback riding is offered on 25 miles of bridle trails in the state forest (bring your own horse) along with a primitive horse camp.
15-acre Pine Lake offers a sand beach. Enjoy boating limited to non-motorized or motorized boats with a 4 horsepower limit. Boat rental available. Fishing is enjoyed from shore or lake. Hunting is permitted in the state forest adjacent to the park. A valid Ohio fishing &/or hunting license is required.
Pick 1 of 103 campsites with/without electric hookups, or 12 walk-in sites in the family campground. Amenities include showers, laundry facilities & general store. Pets allowed on designated sites.
