Kelleys Island State Park is in Erie Co. on the north end of Kelleys Island, 3 mi. north of the town of Marblehead. Access is by boat, plane, or ferry from Sandusky or the Marblehead Peninsula.
The park is full of natural attractions & boasts a campground with sites overlooking Lake Erie. North Shore Alvar & North Pond Nature Preserves are examples of unique plant communities thriving in this ecosystem. Glacial Grooves were formed as glaciers molded the landscape, carving massive scratches in bedrock.
Hike or bike on 6 mi. of trails winding through the nature preserves. Picnic areas offer tables & grills. Nature programs provide summer entertainment. A 100 ft. beach is provided on Lake Erie. A launch ramp provides Lake Erie access for boaters. Fishing access is from shore. Limited hunting is permitted.
