South Bass Island State Park is located on the SW side of South Bass Island. The Island is 2 mi. north of Catawba accessible by boat, plane, and ferry from Catawba or Port Clinton. In addition to Lake Erie, the park is close to the island town of Put-in-Bay.
Lakeside picnic areas provide tables, grills, & shelterhouse. Enjoy wading & exploring at a small stone beach on Lake Erie. (Swim at your own risk.) A launch ramp provides boat access to Lake Erie. At Oak Point (NW side of island), 20 boat docks are available for day use or overnight rental. The park offers fishing access on Lake Erie & fish cleaning house.
135 non-electric & full-service campsites (w/water, sewer, electric) are available. Amenities: showers & restrooms. Pets permitted on designated sites. A group camp can be reserved for organized youth groups.
The Rustic Cottage sleeps 8 w/private bdrm., living room w/TV, kitchen, bath, screened porch & deck. Four Cabents (cabin/tent combo) offer quarters for 6 people & consist of one large room with living area, sleeping areas, bathroom & efficiency kitchen.
