The Shaker Historical Society and Museum is dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the history of the North Union Shaker community, Shaker Heights, and Warrensville Township.
The Museum is in a building, built in 1910, that was formerly an expansive, suburban residence that today offers exhibits, programs, a library, and a shop. The collection includes Shaker furniture and artifacts, as well as objects pertinent to the development of Shaker Heights. A variety of educational events are presented for people of all ages, and tours are offered to individuals and groups year round.
The Elizabeth B. Nord Memorial Library, available by appointment, contains an extensive collection of archival materials and books pertaining to the history of the Shakers and the development of Shaker Heights.
The Spirit Tree Museum Shop is open during museum hours. The Shop specializes in books about relevant topics, and Shaker related gifts.
