The 450-acre Mentor Lagoons Nature Preserve is on Ohio's north coast and features 1-1/2 miles of wild, natural beach. A network of trails leads the hiker through four diverse vistas, including an upland forest, the marsh, the lagoons and the Lake Erie shoreline. A water trail has been established for paddlers, along with safe portage to Lake Erie.
This city-owned preserve offers free use of electric carts for the physically challenged. The City of Mentor will customize nature walks, hayrides, and kayak or canoe trips to meet your needs. This is an ideal natural stop for anyone visiting northeast Ohio. Immediately adjacent is the 700 acre Mentor Marsh State Nature Preserve. Further east is Headlands Beach State Park, Ohio's longest public swimming beach.
