Quarter-scale Steam Train
category : Railroad History
Come take a ride on the quarter-scale live steam Engine 901, restored by our volunteers. This little engine was originally built in the 1950s by members of the Israelite House of David in Benton Harbor, Michigan, where it ran in their amusement park until the 1970s. We run the steam engine on Sundays, weather permitting, and a quarter-scale diesel engine on Saturdays. Tours of our 1920s B&O Caboose are 1-4 pm on the first Sunday of the month, April through September.
Inside our building is a wonderful Lionel toy train layout from one of our members, as well as a railroad gift shop. We are open weekends late March through December. Please refer to our website for our hours as they do vary during the year. Also check our website regarding special programs: Flag City Train Show, Tracks To The Past, Pumpkin Train, Train of Terror & Haunted Engine House, and North Pole Express.
