Van Buren State Park is located in Hancock County near Findlay, an hour drive south of Toledo.
This park offers a peaceful lake and woodlands amid a landscape dominated by the agricultural fields of northwest Ohio. Go hiking on a trail circling the lake or biking and horseback riding on 6 miles of multiple use/bridle trails traversing ravines and gentle terrain (bring your own horse). Scenic picnic areas have tables and grills, along with reservable shelterhouses.
45-acre Van Buren Lake offers laid-back boating, limited to non-motorized boats or boats with electric motors only.
Fishing for bass, catfish, crappie, bullhead and bluegill is enjoyed from shore or the lake. Bow hunting only is permitted in designated areas. A valid Ohio fishing and/or hunting license is required.
Pick 1 of 65 non-electric campsites. Amenities include picnic tables at each site, latrines and dump station. Pets permitted on designated sites. A group camping area accommodating up to 200 may be reserved by organized groups.
2006 Camping Fees are $16 for non-electric sites. Call 1-866-OHIO-PARKS for reservations.
