The John and Annie Glenn Historic Site, housed in John Glenn's boyhood home on Main Street in New Concord, recognizes and honors the lives of the Glenns and relates the story of 20th-century America through the prism of their lives. The Glenns lived through, and had their lives shaped by the Great Depression, World War II, the Korean Conflict, the Cold War, and the Space Race. Heroes such as John and Annie Glenn and their generation were forged by their communities and hometown values. The Glenns devoted their lives to public service (Senator Glenn served more years in the U.S. Senate than any other Ohioan). Visitors to the site will learn about the Glenns' devotion to one another, to family, and to country. New Concord is located near The Wilds; Longaberger's Homestead and basket country; Cambridge's glass museum; nearby Salt Fork and Seneca Lakes; and Muskingum County's pottery.
