Lake White State Park is located in Pike County, 30 miles north of Portsmouth. This picturesque lake nestled in the rugged hills of southern Ohio was built during the Great Depression by the Works Progress Administration. A century before, the area was part of the Ohio and Erie Canal system.
Three lakeside picnic areas provide picnic tables and grills. Two shelters may be reserved. The Park Office/Activity Center offers a meeting room ideal for reunions and holiday entertaining, as well as other group activities and functions.
337-acre Lake white offers a small swimming beach. The lake accommodates all sorts of boating, from canoeing to speed boating with no horsepower limit. A launch ramp is located near the beach and Activity Center at the south end of the lake. Fishing for bass, crappie, bluegill, saugeye and catfish can be enjoyed from the shoreline or on the lake.
Pick 1 of 23 non-electric campsites. Pets allowed on designated sites. Facilities are basic, with picnic tables and fire rings at each site and latrines and water available in the campground.
