The Battle of Peckuwe was fought on this site in 1780 when forces from Kentucky, led by George Rogers Clark defeated forces consisting of Shawnee and Delaware warriors supported by British troops. The battle site which was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, includes displays and self-guided tours of the battle site.
