The Johnston Farm and Indian Agency was once the center of activities in the small settlement community of Piqua, Ohio. The site intertwines with Ohio's rich history, having been under five flags. Starting with the establishment of the Pickawillany Village, George Rogers Clark, Anthony Wayne, William Henry Harrison, and culminating with the Civil War ....Camp Piqua in 1862.

John Johnston welcomed government officials, native Americans, and frontier settlers to his farm 200 years ago. Today this historic site welcomes students and visitors.

John Johnston was a Federal Indian Agent. He and his family settled at this site in 1811. Johnston was well respected by native Americans and his peers. He performed Washington’s eulogy, was well acquainted with William Henry Harrison, served as a Ohio canal commissioner, was president of the historical and philosophical societies in Ohio, founded Kenyon College, served on the board of trustees of Miami University, and was a member of the board at West Point.
