Sycamore State Park is located in Montgomery Co., just west of Dayton. Named for the huge sycamore trees lining the banks of Wolf Creek, Sycamore State Park is an island of green forests & meadows in a patchwork of farmland & urban development.
Hike on 8 mi. of scenic nature trails. Bring your own horse & enjoy horseback riding on the 15 mi. bridle trail. Snowmobiling & cross-country skiing are also permitted with sufficient snow cover.
The Overlook Picnic Area provides tables & grills. A grand enclosed picnic shelter with 2 large fireplaces make it available for year-round use. Picnic shelter reservations are available from February 1 until November 30.
Two group camps are available to organized groups by reservation. Group Camp A offers accommodations for up to 100 people with several sleeping shelters, restrooms, fire ring, grills & day-use barn w/electric. Group Camp B accommodates up to 40 people with an open shelter w/electric, restroom, fire ring, picnic tables & day-use cabin. A primitive 15-site horseman camp is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
