Cordell, Oklahoma

On the South side of the square sits the Calloway Opera House, alongside an unusually fine block of commercial buildings defined by outstanding brickwork detail. On the West side of the square one can see the old Florence Hospital, which dominates the west side of the square and from which follows another block of fine commercial buildings noteworthy not only for their fine brickwork, but also for their unusual granite window sills.

The Calloway Building was built in 1912 and featured an Opera House on the second floor that was lighted by a skylight and was served by Cordell's first passenger elevator.
