WPA Historic Bathhouse

Once again, one can almost hear the summertime laughter echoing through the various levels and verandas of this uniquely designed bathhouse carved from native stone in 1939 by President Franklin Roosevelt's WPA public works program.Closed in the 1950's in favor of a "modern" concrete pool, the Bathhouse and swimming area, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, have been refurbished to its former glory, regaining its place as the "Queen of Summer" in Pawnee County.
The facility is available for private parties, weddings and other events, and it also serves as part of the Outdoor Classroom of the Environmental Education Center located at Pawnee Lake.
Admission: $2.00 per day Swimming Fee
Hours: Open daily (Sat 1 - 8, other days 1 - 6) from Memorial Day Weekend to start of school (mid August), weekends until Labor day.
