The University of Oklahoma's Western History Collections is one of the largest and most complete assemblages of materials on the American West. 65,000 books and thousands of additional items such as manuscripts, periodicals, microfilm, photographs,maps, oral histories and artifacts are available for research. The collections contain an abundance of materials documenting the socio-economic development of the western frontier.
Located in a city park known as "Legacy Trail," the north side of the depot is now the home of the Norman Arts and Humanities Council. Grounds can be used for special events and currently display public art sculptures of bronze and wood produced by Oklahoma artists. On the
