Ada, Oklahoma

Located on a hillside in the center of town, East Central University is one of Ada's crown jewels. A state-supported, fully accredited regional four-year university, ECU serves over 4,500 students. Founded in 1909, the institution offers undergraduate programs in liberal arts and sciences, education, business, and health-related fields. There are 4 undergraduate schools and 1 graduate school. Active fraternities, sororities and over 20 clubs and organizations are on campus.

With an outstanding faculty and the additional teaching resources provided by the ONENET telecommunications system, the university offers students excellent educational opportunities.

The campus has recently enjoyed a building boom that, among other things, has resulted in the construction of a state-of-the-art library and a new University Center, complete with workout facilities, indoor swimming pool and racquetball courts.

Campus tours are available through the admissions office.

Ada is blessed with a variety of recreational activities which include a strong tennis program, four softball fields, two golf courses and a skeet range. The Ada area is nationally recognized as a coon hunters' paradise with several different hunts scheduled here.

Chickasaw Nation Cultural Center

At the Chickasaw Tribal Complex, Headquarters of the Chickasaw Nation, the Cultural Center is located in a beautifully preserved two-story building and offers an educational look at modern tribal society, plus providing an opportunity to view tribal artifacts dating back to the 1500s.
