Perry, Oklahoma

Sooner Lake straddles the county line 22 miles northeast of Perry across Noble County and Pawnee County. With a surface area of 5,400 acres and an average depth of 28 feet, Sooner Lake is considered one of Oklahoma's premier bass lakes. Its primary use is a cooling reservoir for the coal fired electric generating plant, but its recreation opportunities make it fun place for the family to spend the day.

Although there is no overnight camping, Sooner Lake does provide boat ramps, picnic tables, restrooms and a swimming beach. Public access is provided to the heated water discharge area east on the county road off Highway 177.

The Lake has a well-established striper fishery and a newly developed Saugeye fishery.

SPECIAL REGULATIONS:14 inch minimum length limit on Largemouth bass. Buoy marked warm-water discharge area has a daily creel limit of 5 hybrids, striped bass, white bass or aggregate with no size limits.

Approximately 80 brush rows and 3 tire reefs were constructed prior to impoundment and are marked on OG & E public use maps.
