The GRILLS, GATES & HEARTS tour tells the history of Charleston as you stroll the streets of the East Side neighborhood, where 18th-century slaves, free people of color and African Americans lived and worked. View gates, fences and grills made by master blacksmith Philip Simmons. Visit Simmons' garden and on occasion meet and chat with him. Learn of his many contributions to the city. This tour leaves from the Charleston Visitor Center at 375 Meeting St. Tours are by reservations
