Housed in the 1892 Bank of Hampton Building, with its original bank vault and safe with handpainted doors still intact. The museum provides exhibits of regional Indian lore and collected artifacts, a Hampton Watermelon Festival (1939-present) historical display, medical equipment and a programmed computer to inform the public about the area. A military room, children's room, materials related to the atomic submarine the USS Hampton, and a 1930s-era beauty shop also are on display.
