Formerly the Leigh Banana Case Company Commissary, the old general store moved to its present location in the early 1950's and now houses the studios of Elizabeth Ringus,Paw Print Pottery and Larry Price,The Naturalist along with other local artisans. Larry Price is an award-winning and nationally recognized nature photographer who specializes in South Carolina wildlife and nature areas. His wife, Rosie, operates a framing studio at the Little Red Barn Gallery. Liz Ringus is a nationally known potter who specializes in SC traditional face jugs, spongeware decoration on stoneware pottery and other functional pieces. Visitors can even watch the pottery turned before their eyes! The gallery features the work of local artists on display, including quilts and jams made by Mennonite women, handmade soaps and herbal products by African-Americans,jewelry by native Americans, watercolor and acrylic artists, bird houses, folk art painting, spun and woven wool and cotton rugs, shawls and laprobes, baby items and even dog coats and cat scarves! Visitors delight in the special attention received by the gallery's furry mascots Miss Kitty,and Peanut.
