Wild Burros roaming free for viewing, learning about and photographing.
category : Wildlife Viewing
There is a small relic herd of wild burros found roaming within the Big Bend Ranch State Park in Texas. These herds were once afforded protected status but recently the park has chosen to begin exterminating them. Despite the national protections for the wild burros, the herds are not protected within the state park. This is a vanishing opportunity for enjoying and appreciating these wild animals living free in the wild.
I represent the Wild Burro Protection League, we are working to try to change the Park's policy to allow this great opportunity to exist and be preserved for future generations. We don't know if we will succeed, but it does seem to us that the public should be apprised that the wild burros are there and the chance to see them is rapidly disappearing.
