Winner of the TDA "Best Public Improvement Project" in 1999, this outstanding outdoor collection of mural art inspires the imagination to step back in time and experience boomtown first hand. Influenced by black and white photographs taken by Basil Clemmons, of Breckenridge in the 1920s, these enormous murals accurately depict the city's rich history. A walking tour brochure of the murals is available downtown at the Friends of Historic Breckenridge Rest Station at 100 N Breckenridge Ave. Exhibits of Basil Clemmons photos can be viewed at the Swenson Memorial Museum and the University of Texas at Arlington.
