Cooper Wildlife Management Area

Cooper WMA is open year-round for public use. Recreational opportunities for visitors include bird watching, hiking, wildlife viewing, photography, fishing, and hunting. Public hunting is permitted for white-tailed deer, feral hogs, dove, quail, woodcock, gallinules, rails, snipe, waterfowl, rabbits, hares, and squirrels. The Cooper wetland system is a premier waterfowl production area in northeast Texas.
This WMA is day use only, and visitors must register at designated access points. Camping is available at the nearby Doctor's Creek (903-395-3100) and South Sulphur (903-945-5256) State Parks.
