Hunting the legal game noted below is permitted in designated hunting areas with shotguns or long bows with hunting arrows. Rifles and pistols are prohibited by State law. When hunting with shotguns, the use of buckshot or slugs is prohibited.

Legal Game: Dove, Quail, Squirrel, Rabbits, Waterfowl, and *Feral Hogs

*Hunting of Feral hogs is permitted with long bows, or crossbows within designated hunting areas, in accordance with Texas Parks and Wildlife Regulations.

Prohibited Activities:

Hunting is prohibited within 600 feet of adjoining land with occupied dwellings, or within 600 feet of the boundaries of developed parks and anywhere signs are posted saying "No Hunting."

The operation and/or parking of a vehicle off authorized roadways is prohibited except at locations and times designated by the district engineer. Taking a vehicle through, around or beyond a restrictive sign, recognizable barricade, fence or traffic control barrier is prohibited.

Loaded Firearms: Loaded shotguns, ammunition, bow and arrows may be possessed only while hunting. Guns must be unloaded when transporting to or from or between hunting or fishing sites. Possession of and discharging firearms is prohibited while chasing raccoons, foxes, and/or coyotes with dogs for sport.

Trapping: Use of traps, snares, baits and tranquilizers to take wildlife is prohibited. Furbearers are protected from trapping or capture by any means except that raccoons, foxes, and coyotes may be chased for sport.

Target Practice with any firearm is prohibited.

Hunting of these species: Deer, armadillo, crow, hawks, owls, songbirds, predators, and other so-called varmints is prohibited.

Hunting blinds: Blinds made of loose materials and portable blinds that are removed after each hunting trip do not require permit and are authorized for hunting waterfowl. Blinds will not be built in trees or nailed to trees but portable blinds may be secured to trees with rope or wire if removed after each hunting trip. Cutting live vegetation to construct a blind is prohibited.

Protected Species: Eagles, hawks, owls, bobcats, mountain lions, and wildlife species listed as endangered or threatened with extermination may not be hunted, pursued or harassed on Corps of Engineer properties.
