Waco Lake Parks

Waco Lake has 8 parks with RV, tent and group camping facilities, some being exclusivley for camping or day use while others have a combination of both. The parks include: Airport Park, Midway Park, Woodway Park, Bosque Park, Reynolds Creek Park, Lacy Point Access,Twin Bridges Park and Flat Rock Park.
AIRPORT PARK
Airport Park park is currently open year round from 6:00am to 10:00pm. The park includes 8 screened shelters $30.00 per night (Under Construction), 21 campsites with sewer/water/electric, $24.00 per night, 38 campsites with water/electric, $20.00 per night, and 15 primitive sites with water, $12.00 per night. The park includes many 30 and 50 amp sites.
Airport Park has a two-lane boat ramp which can be accessed for day-use purposes. The fee to launch a boat is $3.00 per day.
Airport Park is located on the North Shore of the lake 1/4 mile west of the dam. From IH 35 take the Lake Shore Drive exit, head West to Steinbeck Bend Road, take a right and head to Airport Road. At the stop sign, take a right, go 2 miles, the park entrance will be on the left.
MIDWAY PARK
Midway Park is currently open year round from 6:00am to 10:00pm. The park has 11 camping sites with water, electric & sewer, ($22.00/night), 22 camping sites with water & electric hookups ($20.00/night), 4 double sites ($36.00/night) and 5 primative/tent sites ($12.00/night). The park also has a multi-use play area for children.
Midway Park has a two-lane boat ramp for launching boats. The fee for boat launching is $3.00 per day.
Midway Park is located on the east shore of the South Bosque River. From IH 35 take Hwy 6 for about 5 miles, exit right at Midway Park exit, circle under bridge; park is 1/2 mile down service road.
WOODWAY PARK
Woodway Park has 45 camping and picnic sites, playground equipment, 2 softball fields, a frisbee golf course, 2 group shelters and a hiking/walking trail and much more. For more information about Woodway Park contact the City of Woodway at 254-772-4480.
Woodway Park is located on the south side of the lake. From IH 35 take Hwy 6 North for about 4 miles, take the Bosque Blvd. exit, go left on Bosque Blvd. for about 1 mile to Estates Dr., go right on Estates Dr. 1 mile to the park entrance. The Corps of Engineers leases Woodway Park to the city of Woodway.
BOSQUE PARK
Bosque Park is open year round from 6:00am to 10:00pm. With the park being located below the dam many visitors fish in the outlet works.
Bosque Park is located directly below the outlet works of the dam. From IH 35 take Lake Shore Drive exit and head West. Take a right onto Airport Road, park entrance is 200 yards on the left.
REYNOLDS CREEK PARK
Formerly known as Speegleville I Park, Reynolds Creek Park is currently open year round from 6:00am to 10:00pm. The park has 6 primative/tent camping sites (no electricity or water; $12.00/night) and 41 campsites with water and electric hookups (some 30amp and some 50amp; $20.00/night).
The park has a two-lane boat ramp. The fee for boat launching in $3.00 per day.
Reynolds Creek Park is located on the west shore of the lake. From IH 35 take Hwy 6 north for about 7 miles to Speegleville Rd., exit right, go 1 mile to stop sign, go straight and curve left, go 1 mile to entrance of park on right.
Amphitheater Programs
Waco Lake offers several educational learning programs. One of those being the amphitheater programs presented during the summer in Reynolds Creek Park. Beginning Memorial Day weekend and going through Labor Day weekend a program is presented at the amphitheater each Saturday night starting at sunset and ending at 10:00pm. Program topics presented include information on hunting, fishing, snakes, birds, lake history, water safety, camping etc.
LACY POINT ACCESS
Lacy Point Access consists of a two-lane boat ramp and a hike/bike trail. There is no fee for boat launching at this access.
Lacy Point Access is located on the west shore of the lake. From IH 35 take Hwy 6 north for about 7 miles to Speegleville Rd., exit right, go 1 mile to stop sign, go right to park entrance.
Lacy Point Hike/Bike Trail
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Waco Lake Project Office, has opened the long closed Speegleville II Park for public hiking and bicycling trails. This trail is opened not only to humans but leashed animals as well. The trail is approximately six miles long. Primitive restroom facilities are located at the trail head, next to the boat ramp parking lot. The roads and trails are not suitable for the narrow "road bike" type tires. Trail head parking is permitted on the grass by the pipe fence.
TWIN BRIDGES PARK
Twin Bridges Park, formerly known as Speegleville III Park, is strickly for day-use only. There are 40 picnic sites, a four lane boat ramp, and a group shelter which can be reserved.
The fee to enter the day-use area is $1.00 per person up to $4.00 per vehicle.
Twin Bridges Park is located on the west shore of the lake. From IH 35 take Hwy 6 north for about 6 miles, take Speegleville III Park exit to the right, continue straight 1/2 mile to park entrance.
FLAT ROCK PARK
The park is currently open year round from 6:00am to 10:00pm. With this being a day use only park it is mainly utilized be fisherman and boaters. The park has a one lane boat ramp. There is no fee for boat launching in this park. This park is also an excellent location for bird watching.
Flat Rock Park is located on the north shore of the lake. From IH 35 take Hwy 6 north to Hwy 185, go right on Hwy. 185 4 miles to Yankee Rd., go right on Yankee Rd. 2 miles to the park entrance.
