Gypsy is the ultimate story about an aggressive stage mother trying to give meaning to her unfulfilled life through her children. Rose will do almost anything to insure that her daughters succeed in show business, regardless of the cost. Rose, June and Louise move from city to city, theatre to theatre, during the 1920's, a time when vaudeville was being stripped to the bone and burlesque was just starting to heat up the stage. Along the way Rose appears to lose almost everything except the determination to see her daughter’s name on the theatre’s marquee.
