Scheherazade is called upon to use her tale-spinning talents to save the women in her kingdom from certain destruction by the King. Her tales are underscored by captivating musical themes. Her enchanted stories transform royal counselors into powerful genies and change the King into his own worst enemy, a woman, and a victim of his own revengeful plot. Cast and crew will be comprised of members of Guild Builders, the Actors Guild’s youth theatre troupe. Each performance will be preceded by a short original play entitled “Arabian Nightmare”, written and produced by the Guild Builders Playwriting & Producing class, and telling the story of a group of college students and professors who survive a plane crash in the desert and stumble onto a significant archaeological find, with a Genie, a mummy, and an ancient curse to overcome. The Actors Guild is located at 724 Market Street in downtown Parkersburg, with free parking in neighboring lots. Ticket prices are $7.00 for adults and senior citizens and $5.00 for students through college.
