The Bridgeport Benedum Festival celebrates the contributions of the late Michael Benedum, who found success in the oil and gas industries and in business, yet never forgot his hometown of Bridgeport. The festival brings the community's civic organizations together to promote good will and giving by hosting the events. The four day festival features a carnival, free concerts, and many other events at the city park, which is in the heart of the community. Other events linked with the festival are a banquet and a pageant. July 4, 4pm - 11pm: Carnival and vendors, Car Show, Children's Patriotic Parade, Children's Musical Show, Second Street performs, fireworks at dark. July 5, 6pm - 11pm: At city park, carnival open 6 -11 pm, with Battle of the Bands 6-9pm, Downtown Bridgeport features Heritage Day - an historic celebration of the community, finishing with a unique laser show at dark. July 6, 6pm - 11pm: At city park, country music and carnival, quilt show at Bridgeport High School. July 7, 8am - 11pm: At city park, 5k run, carnival and vendors, pet parade, free concerts, Quilt Show at BHS. Admission: Entry to city park and the concerts are free. $10 buys an all-day wristband to the carnival.
