This Festival is to celebrate West Virginia’s Black heritage, Festival events kick off on Friday with a youth block party sponsored by Fairmont State University. Refreshment, games and entertainment are provided free to all youth. On Saturday the Festival begins with a Military Salute followed by the crowning of the adult Queen and King. Highlighting the event is the appearance of nationally known recording artists. Also featured on Saturday is some of the finest local and statewide talent. Festival attendance of the three day event is approximately 10,000 with some 50 vendors. Sunday features a We Have Gsopel Sing from 2-6pm. Featuring talented local and out of state choirs and soloists.
