Hometown Mountain Heritage Festival
category : Other Events
Summer starts in Ansted with 3 days of old-fashioned fun for the whole family! Music, food and crafts vendors, and a parade are just the beginning. Join our signature coal-shoveling contest or horseshoe tournament, visit the car show and art show. Meet history on the Hawks Nest Trail interpretive walk or through the hands-on activities of the "History Hitting the Road" covered wagon and talk with Mrs. Stonewall Jackson or demonstrators of traditional crafts such as bucket-making and spinning. Browse through historic photographs and the Maples Coal Collection. A Saturday evening concert and Sunday gospel-singing round out the weekend.
