Rocksprings, Texas
Rocksprings was established in 1891, and named for the springs prized as the water source by wagon trains and Indians. The community is located on the highest area of the rugged, scenic Edwards Plateau. Its climate is cool and dry in the summer, mild and sunny in the winter.
The Rocksprings area is a popular year-round vacation spot offering camping, picnicking, hiking, and rock collecting. During specified seasons, hunters take white-tailed deer, wild turkey and upland game birds. Fishing is popular on nearby South Llano and Nueces Rivers.
