Duncanville, Texas
First known as Duncan Switch, the city was established when the Chicago, Texas and Mexican Central Railroad Co. wanted to build a railroad from Dallas to Cleburne in 1881. The name changed to Duncanville in 1882 when the post office was established.
Today you will find an entrepreneurial spirit and diverse economy in this Southwest Dallas County city. The city's 12 parks provide sites for recreation, picnics, and sporting events. Antique shops, arts and crafts, and boutiques are found within the downtown area.
