Quaker Meadows Plantation

An exact replica of the late senator's home library, it contains hundreds of books and treasures, many from his days as chairman of the Senate Watergate Hearings in the '70s. Located on the campus of Western Piedmont Community College. Open Mon-Fri, 8 am-5 pm.

Old Burke County Courthouse

(c. 1837) The Courthouse is the focal point of Historic Morganton's National Register District and houses the Historic Burke Foundations; Heritage Museum, and the Vistor Information Center.

Maintained by the City of Morganton, the greenway is currently a 3 mile paved walkway that provides picnic areas, playground, canoe launch, fishiing pier, overlooks and access to shopping and restaurants.
