More than forty artists from across the upper Gulf Coast are scheduled to show at the juried art fest with $5,000 in awards to be presented. Local island artists Dena McKee and Lawrence Trotter will be among those to show their works along with others such as New Orleans artist Martin Welch and Joe Sheffield of Daphne.
Artwork categories include painting, pottery, jewelry, photography, sculpture, graphics and drawings.
Santa will also be viewing the art throughout the day, so bring the kids for a holiday meet and greet with the Jolly Old Elf himself.
Sponsored by the Dauphin Island Chamber of Commerce, the "Holiday Art Fest in the Park" will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at historic Cadillac Square Park.
