The first Antique Farm Machinery Show & Threshing Bee in Jewell County was held in 1978. The Historical Society is pleased to offer this summer opportunity for folks of all ages to catch a glimpse of "how things were done" in years past on Kansas farms and maybe even get some "hands on" experience! As one strolls through the grounds, it is obvious that the Bee has become a venue for family get-togethers. Grandchildren, even great-grandchildren, of the first folks who attended can be seen having free reign as they participate in the events planned for their age group. Streams of knowledge can be felt passing between avid tractor collectors and from the older generation to the younger set. Mark your calendars now to attend the Threshing Bee! Take advantage of the opportunity to gather in Jewell County to participate in the events planned for the weekend, meet up with family and friends, and have a great time enjoying our big blue sky! If you have questions, call Hooley Alcorn at 785/378-3055, Roger Fedde at 785/786-3337, or Leon Boden at 785/786-3771.
