5K Canoe, 10K Mountain Bike, 5K Trail Run, 10:00 a.m. 5K ON THE HURON RIVER The canoe start will be at Heavner's Canoe Livery in the Proud Lake Recreation Area. We will start in waves of about 12 canoes. The person in the back of the canoe hangs on to a rope strung across the river. Waves will begin about 7 minutes apart. The canoe race will conclude downriver in Hubbell Pond Park. Expect the canoe trip to take 45+ minutes. Participants MUST wear shoes expect them to get wet. Life jackets MUST be worn for the duration of the canoe portion of the race. 10K MOUNTAIN BIKE ON SINGLE TRACK The bike course will be one loop of the Hubbell Pond Park Trails. The bike trail is a single track MMBA trail with some hills and sharp turns. Helmets MUST be worn. 5K TRAIL RUN The run is an out and back on the paved Milford Trail. The Milford Trail has gently rolling hills and passes through a scenic woody riverside venue. Relay Runners: will start from a marked corral when tagged by their biking partner. You may get wet on the canoe trip, so be prepared to stay warm with a towel or blanket or a change of clothes. TRANSITIONS A transition area in Hubbell Pond Park with marked bike racks will be provided. Access will be limited to race participants only.
