Event Details

Downtown Washington, Inc. is proud to present the Annual Main Street BBQ & Bluesfest, to be held in the historic downtown district the fourth weekend in April. This is a family-oriented event with a professional BBQ competition and live Blues music.

Enjoy music and a full food court throughout the weekend. Friday features the Kid’s Q competition! If your child is 5-15 years old and likes to grill, sign them up! It is open to both BBQ teams and to the public. The night also features the “Anything But” side competition for BBQ teams, in which they can enter any food item cooked on a grill that does not include meat as the main ingredient.

On Saturday, come to our annual BBQ competition, sanctioned by the Kansas City BBQ Society. 50 teams will be competing for the title of Grand Champion, with trophies, ribbons and cash prizes for the winners. From 2-4pm, a BBQ tasting event will be open to the public, in which each team will be competing for the title of People’s Choice. Only $7 to sample BBQ from each team!
