The Hollows Motel

The Hollows Motel is named after Mount Airy's old nickname "The Hollows." The area was called "The Hollows" because it is encircled by several mountain ranges. The Hollows Motel caters to business traffic in its 13-room facility off of Highway 52 South.

Snappy Lunch was mentioned on the Andy Griffith Show and Andy ate here as a young boy. Snappy Lunch is Mount Airy's oldest restaurant, circa 1923. Oprah Winfrey and the Incredible Hulk, Lou Ferrigno have been visitors. The Snappy Lunch was featured in the November 1998 issue of Gourmet.
