Eagle Cap Wilderness Adventure
Starting date:
Event Details
RailsNW is pleased to invite you on a unique rail adventure. Come along and what could be one of the last trips through the rugged and roadless Grande Ronde Canyon in Eastern Oregon, at the peak of the Fall Colors.
Passenger service on this breathtaking and historic line resumed in 2004 with the Eagle Cap Excursion Train. This is the ex- Union Pacific Joseph branch and features many miles of rugged canyons and lovely valleys.
At this time, the future of the 2011 excursion train season is in question and this may be one of the last passenger trips possible. We will be departing from Elgin and traveling all the way to Minam on the Wallowa River.
The trip leaves Saturday mid-morning and steals you away from the noise of everyday life and into a peaceful roadless canyon country of the wild and scenic Grand Ronde River. Watch for wildlife and soaring eagles as we pass by dramatic timbered and open ridges, basalt cliffs, and rustic farmlands. A delicious box lunch will be served during this six and a half hour trip.
Don't wait to long to jump onboard this amazing trip, as space is limited to less than 100 passengers, and will quickly sell out.
