Veterans Appreciation Dinner

Everyone is invited to attend this annual dinner honoring the veterans of Crockett County. Veterans and their spouses are provided with a free meal. Other attendees are requested to donate to cover the cost of the meal. For more information, contact Frank Tambunga at 325-392-2827.

Everyone is also invited to tour our Crockett County Museum during the month of November. The Museum will have a veterans exhibit remembering the service of Crockett County veterans.

If you are not able to attend any Veteran Programs, we encourage you to take the time to pause on November 11th at 11:00 a.m. from whatever you are doing and remember all those Veterans that are among us that served our country, our Fallen Heroes and always remember those that are still currently in harm's way.

Fort Lancaster State Historic Site

The 82-acre park was originally donated to Crockett County in 1965 by the Meadows and Benckenstein families for preservation and public use of the site and was transferred to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department in 1968. Today it is managed by the Texas Historical Commission.

Davy Crockett Statue

David “Davy” Crockett was born in Tennessee on August 17, 1786 and died a hero on March 6, 1836 at the Battle of the Alamo in San Antonio, Texas. A memorial to Davy Crockett stands at the south end of Ozona's town square, and Crockett County, formed in 1875
