It’s the perfect time of year for a tea party with Blue Hen Pottery, Dean & Martin Pottery, Eck McCanless Pottery, From the Ground Up, Pottery Road Studio and Thomas Pottery. Visitors are invited to sample hot and iced teas at participating pottery shops. Each shop will serve something different and feature select pottery items. Visitors can sample fruity teas and fresh baked goodies. Maps and information will be available at each shop.

25 - 26NC0334014e012 - Seagrove Cousins in Clay in Seagrove - "Cousins in Clay": Come for the Day--Come for the Weekend -- A sale of Contemporary Ceramic Art in Seagrove, NC at Bulldog Pottery. Bruce Gholson and Samantha Henneke will be hosting this year's special guests Jack Troy, renowned potter from Pennsylvania, ceramics author, teacher, and poet. Michael Kline from Bakersville, NC and is known for his floral brush imagery that gracefully wraps around his wood-fired pottery forms. Peter Lenzo from Columbia, SC reexamines the southern pottery face jug tradition, by creating his autobiographical head sculptures. Bruce and Samantha of Bulldog Pottery specialize in iridescent crystalline glazes and imagery that reflect their interests in the natural world. This is a special time to meet the potters, ask questions, and add to your pottery collection or begin one. "Cousins in Clay" is a pottery kinship based on shared appreciation for the pursuit of excellence within the diverse language of clay.

Michael Kline will be giving a brush work demonstration on Saturday at 2:00pm and on Sunday at 1:00pm. Gain insights into the work and activities of the potters at their individual blogs. During the month of July the pottery shops in Seagrove have something new and exciting planned for you! Observe demonstrations of wheel throwing, carving techniques, raku firing and much more. Can't wait to get your hands in some clay? You can participate in hands-on activities during this special month long event. Try making pottery on the wheel or learn a hand-building technique. The potters are willing to share behind the scenes activities, so you can join in the fun! Shops are open from 10:00 - 5:00. 3 Luck Legacy Kiln Opening - Fifth generation potter and recipient of the 1994 Living Treasure of North Carolina award, Sid Luck, hosts the annual Luck Legacy Kiln Opening and 20th anniversary of Luck's Ware. Guests will include former and current apprentice potters, as well as Kevin Brown and Sandy Cole of Sanford?s North Cole Pottery. A wide range of traditional, utilitarian pottery will be available including salt-glazed. The kiln will be opened at 11 am. Refreshments will be served; entertainment by bluegrass band, Steel Magnolia.

From Hwy 220/I-73/I-74, take exit 45 at Seagrove and follow the signs to Hwy 705 South. Continue on Hwy 705; turn right on Adams Rd and follow the signs to the shop.

15 - 17 Celebration of Seagrove Potters - Visit Seagrove, The Pottery Capitol of the US and voted America’s #1 Town for Craft Lovers. The Celebration of Seagrove Potters, held annually the weekend before Thanksgiving, is a studio tour featuring over 30 studios and shops of ceramic artists that live and work within the Seagrove N.C. area. The event replaces our usual indoor market event, which returns in 2022. Shop the individual shops in person or online on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
