Upcoming Events in Liberty Missouri

March

9 Dr. Suess Safari - How would Dr Seuss describe a trip to the Nature Sanctuary? Reading a short
nature-inspired "Suess-story" will spark our imaginations. Then, we¹ll make
a sense-ometer using pictures of animals' senses to use to "hunt" for nature
knowledge as we head out on the trail. Discover the sounds, smells, sights
and textures found outdoors through hands-on exploration. We¹ll conclude the
program by meeting a live animal up close and personal to learn how it uses
its senses to help it survive. Please call to register. Limit of 12 children
and one accompanying adult per child.

15 Woodcock Watch - For a magical evening, join the naturalist to observe the mating ritual of
the American woodcock. A night of love for this unusual bird is only
witnessed in March. We try to choose the best week to see them, but there is
no guarantee that the woodcocks will show. At the beginning of the program,
we will give an overview of general woodcock information and how to identify
them (we have a mounted specimen). Bring friends and family to share in the
fun, and binoculars and lawn chairs if you have them. Everyone meet at the
picnic shelter. Limit of 25 people. Please call to register.
